Literature
Literature is literally “acquaintance with letters” as in the first sense given in the Oxford English Dictionary (from the Latin littera meaning an individual written character)”). The term has generally come to identify a collection of Texts or Work of art, which in Western culture are mainly Prose, both Fiction and Non-fiction non-fiction, Drama and Poetry. In much, if not all of the world, texts can be Oral literature as well, and include such Genres as Epic poetry, Legend, Mythology, Ballad, other forms of oral poetry, and the Folktale.
Storytelling is the ancient art of conveying real or fictitious events in Words, Images, and Sounds. Stories have probably been shared in every culture and in every land as a means of Entertainment, education, preservation of culture and to instill knowledge and values Morals. Crucial elements of storytelling include plot and characters, as well as the narrative point of view. Stories are frequently used to teach, explain, and/or entertain.
